Protect Net Neutrality

Join the Internet Countdown Last year, more than 40,000 websites participated in the Internet Slowdown to demand real net neutrality. It worked! But monopolistic Cable companies are pouring millions into a last ditch effort to derail the FCC's historic vote. Help us flood Washington, DC with calls and emails to show lawmakers that the whole Internet is watching, and we're literally counting down the seconds until we get real net neutrality.

We need as many people as possible to know that the vote for net neutrality is coming soon, write Congress and the FCC, and keep fighting until we win. Can you post these images everywhere? You can share these images too.

You're our only hope.

This is the time to go big, visible, and strong - that's the only way we can actually win this fight. We all need to get as many people in our respective audiences motivated to do something. We can make this epic, but only if you help. We need companies to be frontrunners, leaders, and heroes on this, that’s the key ingredient to raising the bar and making sure everyone goes big.

We realize it's a big ask, but this is the kind of bad internet legislation that comes along (or gets this close to passing) once a decade or so. If it passes we'll be kicking ourselves for decades—every time a favorite site gets relegated to the slow lane, and every time we have to rework or abandon a project because of the uncertain costs paid prioritization creates. Doing the most we can right now seems like the only rational step.

Let us know if you're interested in principle, and if there's something you need from us to join:

Irresponsible people. ( It is our world, but we have to preserve it for tomorrow)

This article uses strong language.

If you say "Vellalore", the first thing that comes to everyone's mind is Dump yard.
No, Vellalore is much more than that. It is not a place to dump the entire city's waste. But now it has gone too far, let us leave it. Are we taking care of our surroundings?
I can see many people just throwing away the plastic bags without caring for the world. What is worst is there are many companies that have spurred here and all they do is just make profit and throw away the wastes.

This photo was taken near the Vellalore - Pattanam road ( bye pass ) , nearby the Bluedart warehouse. This place is filled with polyethylene covers. Shame on you people.

It isn't a Ghost town.

Ghost town in Vellalore, coimbatore

I have slight interest in Ghost town. It will have many buildings, but mostly abandoned; very less people, but probably we would know each other; we would be conducting some festivals as reminder of tow's past glory. It all seemed fascinating. Besides these, there will also some good scenes to enjoy.

That was the thought before I saw such a place in night. I was coming from Pattanam to Edayarpalayam that night. The time was around 22:30 and I was riding my bicycle very slowly. It was just couple of days then to full moon and these building which were on the roadside were partly visible in the silverlight. I heard foxes howling, dogs barking and birds flattering then. It felt like A Nightmare on Elm Street. Suddenly I felt a gust of cold wind and you know what? I never knew I could ride cycle that fast. That was end of all my fantasies about Ghost-towns.
By the next morning my courage was back and I went there to click some photos. Here it is for you. If you ever felt bored in night when you are nearby Vellalore, just visit there.

It is our responsibility

We all know that the Vellalore garbage yard is a big issue to the residents.

There was a story behind the shifting of dumpyard from Kavundampalayam to here.

You may read the story here at:

The biggest issue is that the garbage has mixed waste of both degradable wastes like food and papers along with the non-degradable plastic. This made it impossible to process into manure or to pull out recyclables.

While it is on one side, the other end of Vellalore (Pattanam road) looks like it is being turned into dumpyard for medical wastes from small hospitals and medical clinics.

Clicks of Flora in Vellalore

These are some random pictures of flowers in Vellalore.

Clitoria is a genus of flowering plants that are insect pollinated.

This genus was named after the human female clitoris, for the flowers bear a resemblance to female genitals

Originally the first described species of the genus was given the name Flos clitoridis ternatensibus in 1678 by Rumpf, a German-born botanist employed by the Dutch East India Company. It was regarded as appropriately named by Johann Philipp Breyne in 1747. Many vernacular names of these flowers in different languages are similarly based on references to a woman's sexual organ.

There were controversies in the past among botanists regarding the good taste of the naming of the genus. The analogy drew sharp criticism from botanists like James Edward Smith in 1807, Amos Eaton in 1817, Michel Étienne Descourtilz in 1826 and Eaton and Wright in 1840. Some less explicit alternatives, like Vexillaria (Eaton 1817) and Nauchea (Descourtilz 1826), were proposed, but they didn't prosper and the name Clitoria has survived to this day.

These plants are very not any endangered or rare species. It is very common, but I thought: "What the hell. Let us post it."

I don't know what these flowers are, but are generally called Sangu Malli.

Children playing in leftover water in Vellalore Lake in Summer

Vellalore lake dries up fast once the monsoon is over. They remain dry for most of the summer.
But When summer onsets and starts drying up the Vellalur Lake, many ducks and birds refresh them in this lake's little water that is left.

Nowadays the water is dirtied by pollution and sewage mixes. Many workshops and factories are situated nearby that could pollute the surroundings. The water in this lake is not at all fit for domestic use, but some children jumps inside and plays in it. (Nevertheless, the water is very dirty and much much less than hygienic. It poses a great risk of making them sick.)
